Westmeath house prices rise by 10pc
In the third quarter of 2018 house prices in Westmeath were 10% higher than a year previously. Roscommon saw a 4% increase on the previous year.
The average house price in Westmeath is now €200,000, 70% above the lowest recorded price, and in Roscommon the average house price is now €138,000, 51% above its recorded lowest point.
The number of properties available to buy on the market nationwide continues to rise. There were almost 25,000 properties for sale nationwide in September, roughly 1,000 more than the year previously.
Martin Clancy from Daft.ie said: “This latest research highlights the changing trends in our housing market. House prices are still increasing but the rate of increases has slowed considerably due to an increase in housing stock. Analysis of our user activity and interest in the housing market has also revealed that on average over 1000 searches are taking place every minute of everyday on Daft.ie ”
