Appetite for Irish property set to continue
Sherry FitzGerald, Ireland’s leading estate agency and exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, will once again bring its Irish Property Show to London on Thursday 23rd April 2020. At the event which will be held in the offices of Strutt & Parker in Mayfair, they will be displaying a sample of properties from all across Ireland , giving UK purchasers an opportunity to meet property professionals from several of their offices across the country in one day, and in one location.
Des O’Malley, Head of Sherry FitzGerald Countrywide said “ We have been running property shows in London on and off since 2002 but in recent times we are seeing continued interest in Irish property from the UK We have over 1,700 UK clients registered with us and reports that 37% of London financial services companies choosing a post-Brexit base in Europe, have chosen Dublin is a very encouraging sign
It’s not just businesses who want to relocate here from Britain. People will want to do so as they yearn to live in a more tolerant and compassionate country. Paradoxically, while businesses are being attracted to Dublin, many individuals and families moving from the UK will choose to live elsewhere in Ireland, in search of a contrasting quality of life so rarely found in the crowded world of the UK
Encouragingly, one can be optimistic for a general improvement in the sentiment of the Irish housing market for 2020. Although still early days, last December’s election results in the UK has, temporarily at the very least, removed some degree of uncertainty from the whole Brexit process. This should feed positively into the Irish housing market. Indeed, early indications suggest an early bounce in activity and general engagement with the market, with viewing levels up. Ireland is still well positioned as the fastest growing economy in the eurozone, and we continue to experience an on-going appetite from oversees investors for Irish property.
The property show will promote property to buyers from all over the UK and especially London We believe in the opportunity, we believe in the Irish recovery, we believe in sustained future growth based on sound economic principles and most of all we believe in bringing our clients properties to the widest possible markets.”
