October is upon us already and Ballina town has a busy month ahead!

To start off our month a special word of Congratulations to Ballina Tidy Towns on winning Bronze for the 5th year at the annual awards which took place at the Helix on Monday last, 30th September.  Their hard work keep out town looking beautiful throughout the year and they deserve to be acknowledged and supported.  You cannot but admire the beautiful flowers all around the town and especially along the river opposite the cathedral, they will always brighten your day.

Lots of local events and activities around our area this October to keep everyone busy.

3rd October 2019

Starting us off this Thursday evening, 3rd October 2019 is Kevin McStay’s book launch.  This event is taking place at the Great National Hotel, Foxford Road, Ballina from 7.30pm.  His book is titled “The Pressure Game”.

Ballina Fringe Festival takes place 4-20th October 2019

Ballina Fringe Festival, as described on their website is an artistic exploration of life lived on the edge of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way served up in a festival of words, art and music.

This years festival takes place from the 4-20 October 2019 in association with the Ice House Hotel & Spa.

The festival is developed in partnership with Ballina Arts Centre and Mayo North.

 

 

Sunday 13th October 2019

Ballina Credit Union are hosting a Green Energy and Home Improvement Exhibition.  This is taking place on Sunday 13th October at the Great National Hotel, Foxford Road, Ballina from 2-6pm.  Special guest on the day is Duncan Stewart.  Entry is free.  Looks like a very interesting day with fun for all the family.  Children’s entertainment with face painting and balloon modelling.

Colour Dash at Belleek Ballina Co Mayo – this is a fantastic event for a very worthy cause.

 

25th – 31st October 2019

As the month draws to a close and the clocks have gone back its time for the unmissable :

Samhain Abhainn – Ballina Halloween Festival. Taking place this year from 25th to the 31st October. The Scary Woods Walk take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th October from 7-9pm.  If you have not yet experienced this “scarytastic” event make it ‘a must’ for your diary this year!  Not for the faint hearted!!
