Santa’s favourite little helper, Bono the Elf, is touring Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way with the help of Letterkenny estate agent Sherry FitzGerald Rainey.

Bono the Elf is tasked with keeping a close eye on all the boys and girls in Donegal for Father Christmas and updating the festive ‘naughty and nice’ list accordingly.

However, near-disaster struck when Bono was stranded in Muff after his makeshift drift-ice raft finally melted on the west bank of Lough Foyle.

However, the team at Sherry FitzGerald Rainey Estate Agents in Letterkenny was quick off the mark to come to the aid of the little fella with a brand spanking new, electric-powered Mini Cooper toy car.

Now Bono the Elf has set off on a 22-day adventure, touring of Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way to take in some of the most wonderfully scenic beauty spots in Ireland as he keeps tabs on who has been naughty or nice before the hotly anticipated visit of Santa Clause on Christmas Eve.

Kiara Rainey, of Sherry FitzGerald Rainey, explained: “When we learned that Bono the Elf was stranded at Muff and needed to get around the county fast, we very quickly sourced a cool, Elf-sized, electric, toy car. Now Bono doesn’t have to settle for being just another Elf on the Shelf and can jingle all our Wild Atlantic Way in style.

“We’re hoping he’ll tell all of his Elf friends in the North Pole about the sheer beauty of our county and the warmth of our Donegal welcome when he’s rocking around the Christmas tree on December 25.

“Bono only needs the car until December 22, so he has heartily agreed to let one lucky Facebook winner have an extra special Christmas by taking home his Wild Atlantic Way ride-on Mini Cooper. To be in with a chance of winning this fabulous prize, all that Facebookers need to do is guess which famous Wild Atlantic Way beauty spot Bono will arrive at next; like the @SherryFitzGeraldRainey page and share any of the ‘Bono the Elf’ daily posts.

“Facebookers can guess the location each day to be entered in the draw for this wonderful child’s Christmas gift. The winner will be announced on December 23 – just in time for Christmas Eve when Bono the Elf will be picked up by Santa in his sleigh whisked back to the North Pole to enjoy the Elves’ Christmas party.”
