Plans for a new road in Navan connecting the Kells Road to the Rathaldron Road through Abbeylands have taken a step forward with the commencement of public consultation on the project. The aim of the scheme is to allow traffic from the north of the town improved access to the M3 motorway and it will also include a new bridge over the Blackwater.
An information event on the proposed scheme took place in the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan, on Thursday, 11th January looking at the study area and route corridors for interested parties.
“Meath County Council has commenced the development of a new road scheme in Navan to connect the R147 Kells Road to the L3409 Ratholdren Road through Abbeylands. The delivery of the LDR4 will include a new bridge over the River Blackwater improving access to the north of the town and from the north of the town to the M3 Motorway,” a council spokesperson said.
Meath County Council invited residents of the surrounding areas, members of the public and interested parties to participate in a public consultation on the Study Area/Route Corridors. To facilitate participation in the consultation, Meath County Council and their Engineering Consultants, Aecom held a public information event at the Ardboyne Hotel.
