  • Period House on a site of 1.75 acres
  • In need of modernisation and repair
  • Original house dates from pre-1840
  • Outbuildings on the site

Larkfield is a handsome house, currently in poor repair, that stands on 1.75 acres in a very pretty setting, just outside Killane village only 13k from Enniscorthy.
Like all of us today, it needs love and attention, and above all investment to return it to its former glory.
The main house dates from the 18th Century, and is listed in "Houses of Wexford" by David Rowe and Eithne Scallan. It is said to have housed officers in the rebellion of 1798. More recently the local dispensary was based there and many doctors lived there between 1845 and 1957 The extentions probably date from 1850 or thereabouts.
Inside it is a large house at 194 sq m, with 4 bedrooms and three reception rooms.
The rooms in the main are large and bright , however the real feature is a magnificent staircase.
Particularly striking however is the peaceful setting of the house looking over mature lawns and bounded by tremendous trees.
If you are looking for a project that you could do truly great things with, or just a site with a sense of place to make a future in, this could be the one!
