We are delighted that the planning permission has been finalised and granted for the new Waste Water Treatment Plant in Arklow and are very excited for the potential growth this will bring to the town.

It is believed will take around two years to complete.

Wicklow Fianna Fáil TD Pat Casey says that “the new enclosed plant will include a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WwTP) of 36,000 population equivalent that will best meet the current needs of Arklow, and allow for future expansion of the town.

This announcement along with the new Data Centre for Arklow will allow the Town to develop and grow in economic, housing, commercial and tourism spheres. I am delighted that An Bord Pleanala has reached the correct decision and I trust that Irish Water will now move to a speedy procurement process to allow works to start as soon as possible.”
